My New Year’s Resolution
I stopped making new year's resolutions a long time ago because I could never keep them. But this past new year's eve Alex and I decided to stop drinking alcohol for one whole month. The first 3 or 4 days were difficult for me but it quickly got easier to come home and do some housework instead of just sitting on the couch with a glass of wine. We all know that Alex couldn't hack it past the 7th day, but I'm still going strong and it's been 29 days. BUT, it's been a rough week at work and I've wanted nothing more than to relax at the end of the day with a glass of wine. So I'm writing all of this because I have only 2 days left before I can have a drink and I'm really looking forward to it.

Congratulations, but did you stop at only two.
We are taking a more modest approach -- one alcohol free day per week.

I have been lucky to spend New Year in several countries. What I have learn is that it doesn't matter where you are, people like to celebrate. Toasting, dancing and fireworks are a common denominator with most western cultures while traditions and customs are local. I cannot decide which country celebrates the best New Year; all I can say is that each country is different and at the end, the joy of welcoming a New Year has nothing to do with the place where you celebrate or how you celebrate

One of the best things about winding down the holidays is looking forward to ushering in a new year with a fresh outlook. Whether you’re planning to spend more time with family and friends, improve your well being, learn something new, or make use of your brand new PC, smartphone, tablet or e-reader, you might put reading more books at the top of your New Year's resolutions like I did.
